TIA Tour Turning Point Showdown

Levels:
8 & Under Dancer (3 Hours)
9-12 Dancer (6 Hours)
13 & Up Dancer (6 Hours)
Singer/Actor (9 and older) (6 Hours)
Students 8 and younger: Six thirty-minute classes will be offered on day one and day two of the event. (Two hours will be held the first day and one hour will be held the second day.)
Students 9 and older: Six one-hour classes will be offered on day one and day two of the event. (Four hours will be held the first day and two will be held the second day.)
Dance Classes offered: Contemporary, Jazz Funk/Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Ballet, and Tap
Singer/Actor Classes offered: Scenes & Stories, Acting Improv, Song and Dance, Theatre Games, and Creative Movement
Scholarships: Scholarship recipients will be chosen following the last class. The faculty and directors will choose students they believe have shown energy, focus, performance, technique, and commitment to the material presented. To be eligible for a scholarship, participants must be registered for the full workshop. They must attend and participate in ALL classes, including tap for the dancer workshop.

Teacher Meet and Greet with TIA Faculty - On the first day of the event, we will have the opportunity to socialize with teachers, studio owners, and the TIA Tour team!
Teacher Seminar and Open Discussion - During the workshop portion of the event, three hours of this time will be dedicated to YOU! We will be offering the opportunity for teachers to take part in our discussion/classes with TIA Tour faculty about technique, strengthening, performance, and any other topic that may arise.

The Competition will begin on the second day of the event!
Adjudication - Each routine will be adjudicated based on our scoring system that was used during our regional events.
Overalls - They will be awarded based on level (Premier or Star) and age division (mini, junior, pre-teen, teen, senior and adult) for each the dancers, tappers, singers, and actors.
Special Awards will be given for:
Choreography: Awarded to the routine that shows an exceptional story or concept, all while incorporating movement and staging to support the complete routine.
Premier Triple Threat: Awarded to a mini, junior, or pre-teen performer who competes with solos in all three categories (singing, dancing/tapping, and acting). Routines must receive a minimum score of 92 for each routine. Scores are then added together with the highest total winning the award. No additional registration is required.
Triple Threat: Awarded to the performer who competes with solos in all three categories (singing, dancing/tapping, and acting). Two out of the three routines must be registered at the Star level and receive a minimum score of 92 for each routine. Scores are then added together with the highest total winning the award. No additional registration is required.
Best Company: Awarded to the studio whose dance acts accumulate the highest average by adding their total points based on the point system below and dividing by the number of acts (minimum of fifteen dance routines needed for the studio to be eligible).
Best _______: Awarded to the studio whose tap acts accumulate the highest average by adding their total points based on the point system below and dividing by the number of acts (minimum of eight tap routines needed for the studio to be eligible).
Best Ensemble: Awarded to the studio whose vocal acts accumulate the highest average by adding their total points based on the point system below and dividing by the number of acts (minimum of eight vocal routines needed for the studio to be eligible).
Best Cast: Awarded to the studio whose acting acts accumulate the highest average by adding their total points based on the point system below and dividing by the number of acts (minimum of eight acting routines needed for the studio to be eligible).
The Turn It Around!!! Award: Awarded to the studio whose routines accumulate the highest average based on the point system below (Total number of points divided by the number of entries). This is based on all dancing/tapping, singing, and acting routines (Minimum of five entries in each style to be eligible).
Spotlight Award: Awarded to the studio that exhibits well-rounded technique and performance, backstage etiquette, poise, and a gracious attitude.
Point System is as follows for the Star Level:
High Platinum Award receives 4 points
Platinum Award receives 2 points
High Gold Award receives 1 point

Platinum Award receives 1.5 points
High Gold Award receives half a point (.5)
