Tara IacobucciFACULTY
Tara Iacobucci hails from Rhode Island, dancing since the age of two. A competitive dancer early on, she then transitioned into the ballet world in 1996, dancing with Festival Ballet of Rhode Island under the late Christine Hennessey. Tara landed the role of Clara in their annual production of The Nutcracker two years later, and continued on to dance a wide variety of roles in The Nutcracker, Les Sylphides, Sleeping Beauty, Dracula, Swan Lake, Firebird, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. In 2001, Tara professionally joined the company under their new name, Festival Ballet Providence, under the direction of Mihailo Djuric. She has performed original works from Colleen Cavanaugh, and has danced alongside Sasha Radetsky from ABT. Tara’s choreography has achieved many accolades on both the stage and in film. It had the pleasure to be a part of the Boston Contemporary Dance Festival during its inception, and most recently she premiered work at the Joyce Theater in NYC. She also had the pleasure of visiting Joffrey Ballet’s Jazz & Contemporary Program in New York City to hold her own audition and cast dancers for a piece she choreographed in their Spring show a couple of years ago. Tara was thrilled to get the opportunity to expand her knowledge within the industry when taking on, and participating in, a few film projects. One film project with close friend, Andy Pellick, was graciously promoted by Dance Teacher Magazine. Tara can still be found dancing and performing in independent shows and projects! Her most recent opportunity was joining the adjunct faculty at Dean College in the Fall of 2021. You can check out more about Tara on her personal website, www.taramariechoreography.com
